Career journey
Salmon began her career at Aston Villa, progressing from their academy into the first team before joining Manchester United in 2018. She spent a season on loan at Sheffield United and later joined Bristol City, before spells with Racing Louisville and Houston Dash in the United States. Her move to West Ham marks a return to the Women's Super League after her time abroad.
Player's reaction
"I'm really excited to join West Ham United and begin this next chapter of my career," Salmon said. "After the conversations I had with Rita [Guarino] and others at the club, it just seemed like the right fit for me. I'm really looking forward to getting started, meeting all of my team-mates and the fans, and helping West Ham push on this season."
Club context
Salmon becomes the seventh summer signing for manager Rita Guarino's side. West Ham finished third from bottom in the Women's Super League standings last term, securing only three wins in 22 matches. The club has been active in the transfer window to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.
