Short overview

Arsenal have signed 19-year-old Germany youth international Lisa Baum from RB Leipzig on a three-year deal with an option for an extra year. The forward scored six goals in 26 appearances last season and becomes the club's fifth summer signing.

Arsenal have completed the permanent signing of Germany youth international Lisa Baum from Frauen-Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. The 19-year-old forward has agreed a three-year contract with the option to extend for a further season, the club confirmed.

Baum made 26 appearances and scored six goals during her single season at Leipzig. She began her professional career at Hamburger SV in 2021, where she made 68 appearances and scored 21 goals, helping the club secure two promotions in three years to reach the top division before moving to Leipzig last summer.

International experience and playing style

At international level, Baum has represented Germany across multiple youth age groups, progressing from the under-17s to the under-23s. She is described by Arsenal manager Renee Slegers as a young wide forward who brings direct intent and athleticism to the attacking group.

“Lisa is a young wide forward who will bring direct intent and athleticism to our attacking group,” Slegers said. “At 19, she is still developing and we believe she has huge potential, which we will support her to achieve. We welcome her to Arsenal and look forward to the road ahead together.”

Player reaction and squad impact

Baum expressed her excitement about joining the club. “I'm so happy to join Arsenal and I can't wait to get started,” she said. “This league is so competitive and Arsenal is a big club so I'm excited to challenge myself and compete with the best. I want to win trophies and develop my game, and Arsenal feels like the perfect match to achieve that.”

She will wear the number 19 shirt at Arsenal and becomes the club's fifth signing of the summer transfer window. The Women's Super League side have also recently signed Spain defender Laia Batlle on a free transfer, among other additions.
