London City Lionesses have completed the signing of Germany forward Nicole Anyomi on a four-year contract. The 26-year-old joins the Women's Super League club after her contract expired at German side Eintracht Frankfurt, where she scored 60 goals in 130 appearances over five seasons.

International pedigree

Anyomi has earned 34 caps for Germany and was part of the squad that reached the final of Euro 2022. She also helped Germany claim a bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Her experience at the highest level is expected to bolster London City's attacking options.

WSL ambitions

Speaking about the move, Anyomi said she is relishing the challenge of playing in the Women's Super League. "The WSL is fast and direct and there is a need to be more physical and to improve myself," she said. "I always wanted to play abroad and to have the offer from this club with their project means the world."

Anyomi also revealed that her close friend Shekiera Martinez, who recently joined Tottenham Hotspur from West Ham United, has helped her prepare for life in England. "My best friend is Shekiera Martinez, who was at West Ham and has now joined Tottenham. She has already told me about the league, London and about the country so I'm ready," Anyomi added.

Club developments

Earlier this week, London City Lionesses also announced that defender Poppy Pattinson had signed a new contract with the club. The signings signal the club's intent to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
