Short overview

The FIFA Fan Festival has surpassed 2 million visitors after the first round of matches at the 2026 World Cup. Mexican host cities lead attendance, while venues in Canada and the US operate at capacity.

The FIFA Fan Festival has reached a milestone of 2 million visitors during the FIFA World Cup 2026, with the first round of matches drawing enthusiastic crowds across all three host nations. As of 17 June, the festival had registered 1,992,302 visitors, a figure that crossed the 2 million mark shortly after.

Attendance highlights across host cities

Among the 13 host cities, the three Mexican venues have attracted the largest crowds so far. Mexico City leads with a cumulative attendance of 527,100, followed by Monterrey with 244,710 and Guadalajara with 218,424. Venues in Canada and the United States have consistently operated at full capacity, reflecting strong fan engagement across the continent.

Opening day and early momentum

The festival kicked off on 11 June, the opening day of the tournament, as fans gathered at Mexico City's Zócalo main square to watch the co-hosts win their opening match. Full crowds also cheered on Mexico in Monterrey and Guadalajara. The strong turnout built on momentum from a special Countdown Concert held 24 hours earlier in Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Toronto. The Toronto FIFA Fan Festival drew a crowd for performances by Bryan Adams, The Beaches, Nora Fatehi featuring Sanjoy, Vegedream, and a collaboration between AHI and Wyclef Jean.

On 12 June, as Canada and the USA both began their campaigns with positive results, full venues were reported across locations in both host countries. Subsequent days saw well-attended events in cities including Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Miami, and Vancouver, each offering unique cultural highlights and entertainment.

Musical performances and upcoming events

Musical acts have drawn significant interest, with performances by Luis Fonsi (Philadelphia), Pitbull (Miami), Jessie Reyez (Vancouver), and Summer Walker (Atlanta). The festival continues with a packed schedule of concerts and live match broadcasts on big screens. Upcoming highlights include performances by Ludacris, Killer Mike, Ceelo Green, and Davido in Atlanta, while Mötley Crüe, The All-American Rejects, Flo Rida, Ashanti, Ja Rule, and The Chainsmokers are scheduled in other locations.

FIFA President praises fan response

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said: “The FIFA Fan Festival has been a key part of our offering to fans, and we are delighted at the reception it has received from visitors so far. We wanted to create spaces across the host nations where local residents and fans from around the globe could come together to enjoy the FIFA World Cup 2026, as well as spectacular entertainment and local flavours. The fantastic response we have already received is testament to the vision and dedication of the host cities, and we look forward to welcoming millions more fans over the coming weeks.”
