BBC Launches New Podcast 'Karel Prince: Lie Detector' with Brian

BBC Sounds has launched a new podcast series titled 'Karel Prince: Lie Detector', in which hosts Karel Prince and Anita Abayomi examine extraordinary football stories to determine their veracity. The show, produced by Sport Social Studios, combines football folklore with detective work, challenging listeners to identify which of three stories presented by a guest is false.

First Episode Features Brian McClair

The inaugural episode features former Manchester United and Scotland striker Brian McClair, who submits three anecdotes from his playing career. The stories include:

• Whether Sir Alex Ferguson delivered a notorious 'hairdryer' treatment to a player who attended the birth of his child.
• Whether David Beckham laid out brand-new pyjamas and a framed photo of his wife Victoria before every away game.
• Whether McClair's famous nickname 'Choccy' originated from a supermarket job.

Armed with case files, photographs, and their own football knowledge, Prince and Abayomi interrogate every detail before McClair returns to reveal which story is genuine. The episode is available for over a year on BBC Sounds.
