Arne Slot Prioritizes Club Coaching Over National Team Role

Arne Slot has clarified his career priorities, stating that he currently favors club management over an international coaching role. In an interview with Voetbal International, the Dutch coach explained that his preference for daily involvement with players is a key factor in his decision.

Daily Training Ground Focus

Slot emphasized the importance of being on the training pitch with his squad every day, something he believes is not possible to the same extent with a national team. "At this stage of my career, I prefer to see myself on the training pitch with my players every day," he said. "Something that is simply not possible in the same way with a national team."

National Team Ambitions Acknowledged

Despite his current stance, Slot did not rule out a future move into international management. "It would be a great honor to represent my country as national coach one day," he told Voetbal International. "However, this was not the right moment for me."

Slot's comments come amid speculation about his future, with his success at Feyenoord having attracted attention from clubs across Europe. His remarks suggest that he remains committed to the club game for now, while leaving the door open for a potential national team role later in his career.
