Ueda doubles the lead

Ayase Ueda doubled Japan's advantage in the 31st minute, receiving the ball with ample space and unleashing a powerful shot from the edge of the box that beat the Tunisian goalkeeper. The goal came after a period of sustained pressure from Japan, who dominated possession and created several chances.

Second-half dominance

Newly appointed Tunisia coach Herve Renard, who took over earlier in the week, was unable to inspire a response from his side.
