This is part of a multi-stage process: subsequent votes will follow the Round of 16, the quarter-finals and semi-finals (combined), and a final vote at the tournament's conclusion. The eventual winner will be named the Hyundai Goal of the Tournament.

The shortlist includes goals from three of the world's most renowned forwards: Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Harry Kane. It also features players making their mark on the global stage for the first time, such as Norway's Antonio Nusa and Cabo Verde's Sidny Lopes Cabral. The list was narrowed down from the full set of Round of 32 goals, following a similar process to the group-stage vote, which was won by Uzbekistan captain Eldor Shomurodov.
