Houston: A Red, White, and Blue Extravaganza
At Houston Stadium, pre-match festivities will feature a red, white, and blue theme designed to commemorate Independence Day. Highlights include the unfurling of a large pitch banner inspired by the energy of a firework, followed by a performance of the US national anthem by US Navy Band Chief Musician Maia Rodriguez. The event aims to showcase Houston as a FIFA World Cup 2026 host city on this historic day.
Philadelphia: Honoring the Birthplace of the Nation
Philadelphia, the birthplace of the United States where the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776, will celebrate with a program that honors the city's history and legacy. Pre-match highlights include a US national anthem performance by Tony Award winner Idina Menzel, a musical performance by the Grammy Award-winning hip-hop band The Roots (founded in Philadelphia), and additional ceremonial elements featuring the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale and Miss Pennsylvania, Stephanie Skinner.
Fans at Philadelphia Stadium will also be able to participate in a tifo card display and enjoy a fly-past by the VFA-11 and VFA-81 squadrons from Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach. Half-time entertainment will feature another Grammy Award winner, DJ Jazzy Jeff, a Philadelphia native.
Additional Festivities at Both Venues
Both Houston and Philadelphia stadiums will host additional attractions as part of the festivities, including pyrotechnics and themed video-board signage.
